ITPOE in Rzeszów is a modern and ecological facility for neutralizing municipal waste and allowing the recovery of energy contained in waste in the process of thermal transformation. ITPOE produces electricity and heat in the process of highly-efficient cogeneration, which are used by residents and institutions in Rzeszów. The hourly capacity of the existing technological line is 12.5 t/h.
In October 2019, the authorities of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, PGE Energia Ciepła and the Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship signed a Letter of Intent, which is an expression of the will to take joint action to build the second technological line. The planned project will increase the plant’s capacity from 100 000 to 180 000 tons per year.
The investment in the north-western part of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship consists of 43 turbines with a total installed capacity of nearly 100 MW. The investment increases the total installed capacity of PGE Group wind farms by nearly 20% to 647 MW and strengthens the Group’s position as the largest producer of green energy in Poland.
As part of the investment in the area of Kamień Pomorski and Gryfice poviats, 33 windmills with a rated capacity of 2 MW and 10 windmills with a capacity of 2.2 MW were built, along with accompanying infrastructure and power output in the form of two transformer stations. 16 340 m³ of concrete (over 1 800 concrete truck runs) and 2 120 tons of reinforcing steel (more than the weight of 8 Boeing 787 Dreamliner passenger planes) were used to build the foundations of all the wind turbines. The turbines, each weighing approximately 260 tons, were installed on 110 and 125 meter towers, respectively. The blades made of laminate (a mixture of glass fiber and resin) operating on them have 100 or 110 meters in diameter.
At the same time, PGE is developing photovoltaic projects throughout Poland and we are working intensively on the construction of wind farms in the Baltic Sea – says Wojciech Dąbrowski, President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
Thanks to the implementation and implementation of the “My Electricity” program, which is important from the point of view of meeting the requirements of the EU climate and energy policy by Poland, there has been a great interest of off-takers in active participation in the energy market and the development of prosumer energy. These are huge challenges for PGE Dystrybucja – the distribution system operator at the PGE Capital Group. In 2019, the company connected a large group of green energy producers to the power grid. By the end of December, it was 41 996 renewable energy sources, of which 41 776 are photovoltaic micro-installations, with a total capacity of 254 MW. The interest of customers, primarily in photovoltaic installations, is not weakening at present, several thousand customers are connected to the PGE Dystrybucja network every month.
